Every Avenger is built to order, starting with Munson’s refined S-style platform and shaping the details around the way you play. Neck feel, woods, pickups, hardware and finish are all chosen to create a one-off guitar with familiar balance, modern stability and your own voice.
What is the Avenger?
The Avenger is Munson’s made-to-order S-style platform: familiar in feel, but refined in contour, access, stability and specification. Each one starts with the character of an established Munson design, then is shaped around the way you play.
Inspired by the versatile aircraft it’s named after, the Avenger custom guitar is designed to be played in any situation. And, like its name has taken new meaning over the years, so too will the S-style be redefined by the Avenger.

Who is the Avenger for?
The Avenger is for players who love the balance and familiarity of an S-style guitar, but want something more personal, more refined and more stable than a production instrument.
It suits players who need comfort, tuning stability, upper-fret access and a wide range of tones, while still wanting a guitar that feels instantly familiar in the hands.
What makes the Avenger special?
Improved access
The Extended Reach contour gives easier access to the upper frets without losing the feel of a familiar S-style body.
Refined comfort
Adjusted arm and belly contours make the guitar sit naturally against the body, whether played standing or seated.
Stable, modern hardware
A two-point tremolo or hardtail bridge, locking tuners, GraphTech nut and stainless machine bolts give the Avenger strong tuning stability and serviceability.
Your sound, not a fixed spec
Choose from traditional SSS, HSS or HSH layouts, custom-wound pickups, modern noiseless systems or more individual electronics.
The name behind the model
The Avenger takes its name from the aircraft of the same name: versatile, purposeful and adaptable. That idea carries into the guitar, a familiar platform built to handle a wide range of players, sounds and situations.

Each Avenger is built in the Munson workshop in Great Yarmouth as a one-off instrument, using carefully chosen components, woods and hardware specified around the player.
Built around your sound
The Avenger can be voiced for classic S-style clarity, hotter blues and rock tones, modern noiseless performance, or more individual pickup and switching combinations. The examples below give a sense of what the platform can do, but each build is specified around the player.

Starting Specifications
Every Avenger is made to order, so there is no fixed production specification. The details are chosen around the player, but each build begins with a proven Munson platform.
There are some specifications that come with this model as standard:
- Body: Solid with ER contour
- Neck Scale: 25.5” (648mm)
- Frets: 22
- Fretboard radius: 12” (304.8mm)
- Bridge: 2-Point Tremolo or Hardtail
- Machine Heads: Gotoh Staggered, Locking
- Bolt-on neck: 4 x stainless steel machine bolts
- Truss rod: Dual Action, adjustable
- Thickness: 0.73” (18.58mm) at 1st Fret; 0.87” (22.21mm) at 12th Fret
- Inlays: Aluminium & epoxy
- Nut: GraphTech Black TUSQ XL
- Pickups: SSS, HSS or HSH
- Controls: Vol/tone layouts, 5-way switching and custom electronics options available
Commissioning an Avenger
Most Munson made-to-order builds typically sit in the £3,500–£4,500 range, depending on specification. Payment is split into clear stages: deposit, design sign-off, pre-assembly and completion.
