Munson Guitars is a British custom guitar workshop based in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. We build made-to-order electric guitars for players who want something more personal than a production instrument.
Each guitar is approached as a one-off. A build may begin with one of our established Munson models, or with a fully bespoke idea, but the process is always centred around the player: how the instrument should feel, respond, sound and look.

Built around the player
A Munson build starts with a conversation. We look at the way you play, the sound you are chasing, the neck feel you prefer, the woods, hardware, pickups and finish details that will shape the final instrument.
Only when the direction is clear do we move into the build. This design-led approach keeps the process personal, considered and collaborative, while giving every instrument a clear purpose from the start.
The aim is not to make every instrument the same. It is to make each guitar feel resolved, reliable and right for the player it was built for.

Our work combines hand building with digital design and precision tooling. That means we can control the detail of each instrument while still allowing room for the judgement, feel and finishing work that define a handmade guitar.

Why British-made matters
For us, British-made is about more than where the guitar is assembled. It shapes how we work, who we work with and how much control we keep over the finished instrument.
Where possible, we use British suppliers, locally sourced materials and UK-made components. That gives us closer relationships with the people behind the parts, reduces unnecessary shipping, and helps support specialist craft and manufacturing skills here in Britain.
It also allows us to build with accountability. Every Munson guitar comes from a small workshop, not a production line.
Sustainable by design
A well-made guitar should not be disposable. We believe one of the most sustainable things we can do is build instruments that are designed to be played, maintained and kept for decades.
Where possible, we use reclaimed, local and responsibly sourced materials. We also work with local suppliers wherever practical, reducing unnecessary travel and supporting the skills around us.
Sustainability is not a slogan for us. It is part of the decision-making process: choose good materials, build carefully, avoid waste, and make instruments that last.
